Lost Cause?

Is Evangelism a Lost Cause?

Dear Praying Friends,

Today we often hear that people are not receptive to the gospel, that the U.S. is a hard soil and that people are turning away from God in droves. Is evangelism a lost cause?Just listen to a few brief stories from our staff’s experience in the past 30 days.

Ben, from Jacksonville, FL

"A man (Brandon Dimperio) whom I followed up a number of times from a Neighborhood block party, prayed to receive Christ. I have gone through six Sent 6:7 lessons with him and last month I joined him visiting his mother in the hospital. This month we visited his mother again and Brandon shared the Would you Like to Know God Personally? booklet with his mother and she prayed to receive Christ! She is now totally unresponsive and hospice has been called in. God is so good!"

John, from Owatonna, MN

"Pastor Barry stated at the first Sent 6:7 training, 'If this is just another program, you can count me out.' In our final Sent 6:7 training, Pastor Barry stated, 'I may need to have a couple of my elders removed because we need to get serious about the Great Commission and this training is something we need to emphasize!'"

Matt, from LeHigh Valley, PA

"My friend, Michael has been opening up about his own journey and we've been having spiritual conversations since August. He recently came to a Table Talk event where we discussed the topic of Boundaries, and we wound up having a great conversation about relationships, forgiveness, trust, and the Gospel! I really believe that the Lord is drawing this friend to Himself, and he gratefully expressed how good it was to join a space where he and others with views that don't align with the Christian faith could still feel so welcome by a group of Christians who want to have honest discussions. It was a win on so many levels. Praise the Lord!"

Bryan, from Baltimore, MD

"Krishna, a Nepalese friend, is planting a church and starting with meetings at his house. In an effort to support and partner, I asked how I can serve his church. He said he was hoping to host a Christmas lunch at his house where he invited Nepalese friends to a grand meal and shared the gospel. Myself and a ministry partner of mine committed to giving him all the funds for this meal. It was a smash! Krishna sent me a video and pictures of this meal. Nineteen guests at the meal. Several will continue coming to church meetings. One man came to Krishna's house, saying, "Tell me about this 'Emmanuel' I keep hearing about," which Krishna happily did."

Andrew, from Spartanburg, SC

"Over the past few months I have been building a relationship with a guy named Isaiah. Isaiah is not a believer but this has not stopped him from walking through scripture with me each week. Today he texted me and mentioned that he is ready to take the step of receiving Christ! We plan to talk more in the next few days."
