John J. Dwyer - a good friend of Dave Robinson (co-founder of YTL and co-executive director of Church Movements) has written another stellar history book: The Oklahomans Volume 2!

John’s book is very special to us. John was led to write a little about the work God has done in Hungary through Youth at the Threshold of Life. The little mustard seed ministry God started in 1994 in Hungary and which went to many countries, is now in the history book of Oklahoma. Only God can do such things. The humble beginnings and this amazing honor reflects the truth that:

  1. God always starts in small

  2. God always uses the nobodies (1 Cor 1:26-29)

We are sharing this with you, because so many of you know the stories of God’s work in Hungary so well, and are a huge part of our story. Without you – and we’re serious when we say this – this story would not exist! You have prayed for us, cried for and with us, supported us so generously, and be-friended us over three decades!

Psalm 111:2-4 says, “Great are the works of the Lord; they are studied by all who delight in them. 3 Splendid and majestic is His work, and His righteousness endures forever. 4 He has caused His wonders to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and compassionate.”

So, let’s study and remember God's work, shall we? Here are just a few things that are easy to recall:

  • Youth at the Threshold of Life (YTL) was written as an accredited curriculum for Hungarian public schools and birthed as a youth movement in 1994!

  • Over 7,000 educators were trained in YTL, of which 71.5% decided to show the Jesus film to their students in public classrooms.

  • Over 253,000 students heard the gospel in 556 cities, and an estimated 15,000+ came to faith in Jesus.

  • YTL developed an international partnership with Youth at the Crossroads that spread to 62 countries.

  • Recently YTL had been translated into English and is now available in the U.S. See our web page in English: https://ytl.academy/

  • “Take Jesus to School” (TJTS), an educational campaign in Hungary exposed over 500,000 students to the gospel and saw thousands of decisions for Christ. Over 100 youth groups developed and over 50 churches were started on the heels of both TJTS and YTL!
