Atheism doubled in 'GenZ'

THE 3 BURDENS OF JESUS

Dear Praying Friends,

A recent study in the U.S. revealed that the number who identify as atheist in the generation of 13-18 years old (called “GenZ”) is double that of the general population! It means that just in one generation (from millennials to GenZ) the number who deny the existence of God grew 100%!  This is unprecedented in the history of this country. While we were “doing church”, while we were having our Bible studies, while we were busy with our games and with our entertainment, while we were putting our kids into the focus of our lives, while we were fighting for our own agenda and while we were creating financial security for ourselves—our future generation seeing us doing all that is turning their back to God. Something went fundamentally wrong! The generation following the most unchurched generation (the millennials), is turning their back to God in a larger proportion than ever before and at a younger age than ever before! We have modeled church and Christian living for them and we have failed to show them the supremacy of God and the joy of Christ. We were focusing on building up  our own little kingdoms and forgot to help LIFTING THE 3 BURDENS OF JESUS: 1. Seeking and saving the lost, 2. Making disciples and 3. Moving to the broken. Our generations’ consumer-focused, Christ-less Christianity bears it’s fruit in the upcoming generation. They are mirroring us. Our generation’s ignorance is not an excuse. It’s a sin. (Heb 5:2)

Sinclair Ferguson, Professor at Reformed Theological Seminary recently said this: “[Cultural Christianity] is a greater threat than Islam. Christendom is a far greater threat to Christianity than Islam is. Islam can never  destroy the gospel, but Christendom can easily destroy the gospel and is destroying the gospel. The church is the greatest threat to real Christianity in the world. God help us.”

If this is not forcing millions of Christians, church-goers  to change priorities, than what would? God’s Kingdom demands a change: repent, leave and follow. (Mt 4:12-25.). God needs to bring a major change to the American church where millions of believers wake up to their calling, appropriate the power of the Holy Spirit, start moving in loving actions and shift their focus from the consumer, cultural, political Christianity to the real person and purposes of Jesus Christ!

We came to the U.S. to partner with you in this challenging moment, but we need you to continue to partner with us as we pursue lifting up together the 3 burdens of Jesus: seeking and saving the lost, making  disciples and moving to the broken!

If you are already supporting our ministry, please, know how thankful we are for your faithful partnership!

Though the Lord has been very faithful to meet our financial needs for the past 26 years of ministry, we currently need $1,100 per month in order to be at full budget. We need to find new financial partners in this mission. If you are currently not partnering with us financially, would you please prayerfully consider joining our ministry partner team? If the Lord is leading you to join our team, you can start your partnership by visiting give.cru.org/0636800 Would you be so kind, to email us (gabor.gresz@cru.org) and letting us know about your decision?

Thank you for your prayerful consideration!
